Janice received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and her Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Queens College, City University of New York. She has taught art in a range of academic and museum settings and currently conducts adult drawing classes at her studio in Montclair, New Jersey.

She was awarded a 2026 Individual Artist grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. A video of Janice and her studio is posted on the ‘I Like Your Work’ Website and Podcast. She has had residencies at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, as a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Fellow, and at the Millay Colony for the Arts. Her work is distinguished by a keen sense of observation, rhythmic composition, and an understated humor.

Her artwork is included in numerous private collections throughout the United States. She lives and works in Montclair, New Jersey.
